The Infantry FC: LA Galaxy Soccer Experience, April 2009 

Infantry FC were served up a celebrity treat on their Easter visit with a match arranged against ex-Wales captain and Hollywood celebrity Vinnie Jones’s local outfit, Hollywood All Stars. Featuring ex-Crazy Gang member Warren Barton, Glasgow Rangers stalwart Richard Gough and a cameo appearance from Vinnie himself, Infantry held their own in a tight game that saw the tourists just come out on top.

Maintaining their soccer focus throughout, Infantry made their way to David Beckham’s LA Galaxy headquarters for a training session with the coaching staff followed by a tour of the ground and areas unavailable to the public. Although David was plying his ‘winter trade’ with Milan at the time, the boys enjoyed their session at the club and recorded victories in their remaining tour matches, albeit by a goal or two in both cases.

After absorbing the sights and sounds of Hollywood, Venice Beach and Universal Studios, Infantry returned home on their Virgin Atlantic flight satisfied with their playing record and new found celebrity status in suburban California!
