The Algarve Vets Tournament is for those men aged over 35 years in the twilight of their rugby career. So if you have a Vets team that wants great hospitality, whilst enjoying the Portuguese sun with slightly competitive games then book your team onto this exciting rugby festival.

What could be better for a Vets team than playing rugby at one of Europe´s most beautiful destinations, Vilamoura, Algarve. The resort sports some of the nicest beaches just a stroll away from the hotel. Plus, when the Algarve Vets Rugby Tournament finishes, the entertainment continues, with the exciting night life of the Algarve right on your doorstep.

Tournament Format

The Tournament will take place on Saturday 5th May 2012 and all the fixtures will be held at Vilamoura’s Rugby Club on their lush grass pitch. Competition format of the Algarve Classics Rugby Tournament guarantees all teams competitive matches. The tournament is open to men's teams of age 35 and above. There will be two dispensations for player's under 35 but over 32. Each team is expected to play a minimum 20 minutes one way per game and play a minimum of 3 to 4 games. Each team should present a minimum of 22 players.

Sample Itinerary

Sample 4-day tour package:

Day 1 - Make your way to your chosen departure airport where you will begin your journey to Portugal (hand luggage only). Upon arrival in Portugal you will be transferred to your selected tour accommodation. The informal opening event will commence in a local bar (bar TBC).

Day 2 - You will be transferred to the Algarve Vets Rugby Tournament venue where teams will battle it out for the trophy! The tournament will be played throughout the day and teams are expected to play a minimum of 4 games each. This is a one day tournament and following the tournament the awards ceremony will take place along with a night of celebration. You will be transferred back to your chosen accommodation with the night at your leisure.

Day 3 - This will be a free day. Teamlink would be happy to arrange excursions or additional fixtures for your rugby team.

Day 4 - Final day of tour. It's time to pack up and head back to selected Portugal Airport to await your return flight home.
