Barcelona is the most important city on the Mediterranean, and with the modern installations right beside the sea, you can expect two days of unforgettable ‘fiesta’, sun, fun and, of course, rugby. The Barcelona Sevens Rugby Tournament focuses heavily on the social element of a 'rugby tour' and teams have given excellent feedback regarding the tournament both on and off the field! the 2011's event saw teams competing from Italy, France, Scotland, Holland, England, Portugal and Fiji!

Tournament format

The one-day event is superbly organised on the pitch with a ‘third half’ at their beachfront clubhouse running long into the night. The competition system guarantees at least 3 games per team and the tournament is intended to be a rugby ‘fiesta’. The objective is that everyone should pass the weekend participating in a series of activities organized around our sport. Depending on the number of teams registered, a competition system will be designed that permits everyone to enjoy the tournament.

Sample Itinerary

Sample 4-day tour package:

Day 1 - Make your way to your chosen departure airport where you will begin your journey to Barcelona (hand luggage only). Upon arrival in Barcelona you will be transferred to your selected tour accommodation. The tournament presentation in the Flaherty´s Pub, the Draw and welcoming 'fiesta' will commence on the Friday evening.

Day 2 - You will be transferred to the Barcelona Sevens Rugby Tournament venue where teams will battle it out for the trophy. The tournament will be played throughout the day and teams are expected to play a minimum of 4 games each. This is a one day tournament and following the tournament the awards ceremony will take place along with a night of celebration. You will be transferred back to your chosen accommodation with the night at your leisure.

Day 3 - This will be a free day. Teamlink would be happy to arrange excursions or additional fixtures for your rugby team.

Day 4 - Final day of tour. It's time to pack up and head back to Barcelona Airport to await your return flight home.
