The Benidorm Sevens is a well established tournament that has grown over the past 26 years into the competitive international event that it is today. It has been running since 1987, and is organised by Villajoyosa Rugby Club (La Vila) with the support of Villajoyosa and Benidorm Councils, Tourist Board Costa Blanca and the Spanish Rugby Union. The tournament attracts first class national and international teams and we expect 2012 to be even bigger and better than previous years.

Tournament Format

• Adult 7’s
• 7 minutes halves
• Sevens games are short, exciting and very fast

The tournament will comprise of two sections: National Teams/International Selections and Clubs. All games are hosted at the Villajoyosa Stadium and each team will be guaranteed to play on at least two separate days, with preliminary pools and final knock-out stages leading to the finals. IRB seven-a-side rugby laws will apply. There will be some generous prize money up for grabs for the winner and runner-up in the Clubs Section. Competition winnings are as follows:

WINNER: 800 euros
RUNNERS-UP: 400 euros

Sample 4-day tour package:

Day 1 - Make your way to your chosen departure airport where you will begin your journey to Benidorm (hand luggage only). Upon arrival in Spain you will be transferred to your selected tour accommodation. The tournament kick starts with the official welcome party at Hotel Torredorada followed by the official disco bar party at Beachcomber Benidorm (24:00).

Day 2 - You will be transferred to the Benidorm Sevens Rugby Tournament venue where teams will battle it out for the trophy! The tournament will begin at 11:00 with the pool games. The lunch room will be open 13:00 to 16:00 and the pool games commence at 16:00 and the pool games commence at 16:00 the last game of the day will be played at 19:40 followed by transfers back to the hotel in order to prepare for the official disco bar party at Beachcomber Benidorm (22:00).

Day 3 - You will be transferred to the Benidorm Sevens Rugby Tournament venue where teams will battle it out for the trophy! The tournament will begin at 11:00 with the quater finals games. The lunch room will be open 13:00 to 16:00 the clubs final will begin at 18:00 and the international final will begin at 19:20. Food hall will be open from 20:00 until 22:00 followed by the after match party and club terrace. The night will finally end with the official disco bar party at Beachcomber Benidorm (24:00)

Day 4 - Final day of tour. It's time to pack up and head back to the Airport to await your return flight home.
