The Hilversum Rugby Tournament is annually played on Easter Sunday and sees the rugby club's six pitches transformed into a buzzing rugby hot bed. Situated in close proximity to both Utrecht and Amsterdam, there is plenty to see and plenty to keep everybody entertained throughout the weekend.

With a mixture of teams and a wide variety of standards, competitive fixtures and a great day are assured through respecting the rugby mantra in Holland of ‘play good and fair rugby in a friendly atmosphere’. A packed lunch per player and team practice ball are included as part of your Teamlink tournament package. The Hilversum Youth Rugby Tournament is a huge success year after year and places are already filling up fast in 2012!

Tournament Format

U8s and U9s: 7 a side
U10s and U11s: 9 a side
U12s and U13s: 12 a side
U14s, U15s, U16s, U17s and U18s/U19s: 15 a side

Games are played on the six pitches available at Hilversum Rugby Festival throughout the day, and are usually played in poules of four or five teams who play 2 x 10 minutes. The tournament comes to end with the presentation of trophies to teams that place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group.

Sample Itinerary

Sample 4-Day Itinerary:

Day 1 - Your executive coach will pick you up from your sporting club house and begin the journey to Holland. You will embark on the channel crossing from Dover / Folkestone to Calais (subject to using Eurotunnel or ferry crossing). You will then be transferred to your chosen tour accommodation. When at the accommodation you will check in and the night will be at your leisure.

Day 2 - This will be a free day, Teamlink would be happy to arrange excursions or fixtures for your rugby team. Your executive coach will be available throughout the day.

Day 3 - You will be transferred to the Hilversum Youth Rugby Festival venue via your executive coach transport. The tournament will begin at 10:00 and continue through until 16:30. After the tournament post match hospitality will be provided by Rugby Club Hilversum along with the prize giving ceremony. Following the post match entertainment you will be transferred back to your chosen tour accommodation and the night is at your leisure.

Day 4 - Board your executive coach transfer from your chosen tour accommodation to Calais, where you will embark on your return channel crossing back to the UK and your rugby club house.
