Last year, The Rhino Mendip Sevens hosted teams from all over the UK with London Irish eventually lifting the trophy as champions. This fast paced junior boys tournament ensures an action packed weekend for any touring side looking for a great UK rugby tour!

Teams from all over the UK come to compete in the Rhino Mendip Rugby Sevens every year. Rugby teams of all abilities make the trip to Winscombe RFC to sample a weekend with the perfect blend of fun and junior rugby.

Tournament Format

Under 13s: 7 a side
Under 14s: 7 a side
Under 15s: 7 a side

The Rhino Mendip Rugby Tournament is open to boys aged U13, U14, and U15. The Laws are those of IRB Rugby Sevens as modified by the Under 19 requirements of the RFU. The duration of matches is seven minutes each way, with a two minute break at half time.

Registration will begin at 9.00 in the main tent between pitches A and B. Please ensure that all teams are registered by 10.00 for a prompt 10.30 start to matches. Only players registered with their relevant Unions will be eligible to take part; please ensure you have registration cards for inspection.

Sample Itinerary

Sample 3-Day Itinerary:

Day 1 - Your executive coach will pick you up from your sporting club house and transfer you to your chosen accommodation. When at the accommodation you will check in and you will have the night at your leisure. Alternatively Teamlink can arrange a tour excursion for your team.

Day 2 - This is a free day however Teamlink would be happy to arrange excursions or fixtures for your rugby team, You may also want to look into our fantastic Sporting Experience range which allows you to become a pro for the day and live life as a full time athlete. Your executive coach will be available throughout the day.

Day 3 - You will be transferred from your accommodation to the Rhino Mendip Rugby Sevens Tournament venue. Registration will begin at 9.00am in the main tent between pitches A and B. Please ensure that all teams are registered by 10.00am for a prompt 10.30 start to matches. Sunday will see the U13s, U14s, and U15s battle out for the Rhino Mendip Rugby Sevens title. Post match entertainment will be available along with the prize giving ceremony. Your executive coach will then transfer you back to your sporting club house.
