Driving: Driving is on the left. Barbados Driving Permit requirements are available from car hire companies, Ministry of Transport and Police stations

Business/Social Hints: Business is conducted in English. On social occasions, eg invitation to restaurants, punctuality appreciated and dress as for business meetings unless otherwise indicated

Clothing: Light clothes throughout the year plus warmer wear for the odd chilly evening
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Compulsory Vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. Exempt infants under 1 year.
Recommended Immunisations: Diphtheria*, hepatitis A, hepatitis B*, tetanus.
* recommended in some circumstances, travellers making 3 or more visits per year, stays of more than 3 months in a rural area, high-risk occupational groups & backpackers staying more than 1 month.
Reciprocal Health: A reciprocal health agreement for medical treatment including hospital treatment, ambulance travel and prescribed medicines for children and the elderly exists with the United Kingdom. In order to obtain treatment some proof of United Kingdom residence such as a NHS medical card or UK passport will be required. Further details are available from www.dh.gov.uk
